How to Share ABA Program Setup Before Data Collection
Give a colleague a readable view of saved targets and objectives without rebuilding your setup in another document.
A colleague asks what is set up for a client before the first session. The targets and objectives are already in your app, but sending them means opening several screens or copying the same information into another document.
TallyFlex’s Client summary brings that saved setup into a PDF. It includes programs and standalone skills and behaviors, with definitions, recording setup, mastery criteria, and objectives where saved. You can generate it before any observations exist.
Start with what the reader needs to review
A useful setup summary helps someone answer concrete questions: What are we collecting data on? How is each target defined? Which objectives are in progress?
For a colleague preparing to work with the current setup, ongoing programs and in-progress objectives may be enough. If the discussion includes completed work or future objectives, broaden the summary deliberately. Adding everything can make the relevant targets harder to find.
The practical sequence is simple: review the saved setup, choose what to include, then share it with the person who needs to review it. You spend the conversation on questions about the setup instead of finding and retyping it.
Keep the target and its objective together
Consider a skill named “Spontaneous requests.” The name alone does not explain what counts as a request or how it will be recorded. A useful summary keeps its saved definition, frequency recording method, and current objective together.
That gives the reader something specific to discuss. If a definition is unclear, revise the setup in TallyFlex rather than maintaining a corrected copy only in a separate document. After updating the setup, generate a new summary for the next review.
Choose what to include
Choosing all objectives does not automatically include an excluded completed or archived program. Annotations are included by default and appear at the end. Turn them off when the reader only needs program setup.

Share the PDF only with people authorized to receive the client’s information. When the question changes to how performance has changed over time, use Progress report.
