Auto-Progression and Mastery
Configure mastery rules, automatic phase sequencing, and cumulative maintenance mode.
How Auto-Progression Works
When auto-progression is enabled, mastering one phase automatically activates the next. When mastery criteria are met, TallyFlex advances phases based on the rules you configured - reducing manual steps while you retain full control over clinical decisions.
Auto-progression only applies to programs that use phases. Programs without phases have all targets active simultaneously - there are no phases to progress through.

Enable Auto-Progression
Open the program settings and toggle Auto-progress phases on.
- On - Mastered phase triggers next phase automatically
- Off - You manually activate each phase when ready
Cumulative Mode
Enable Cumulative Phases to keep mastered targets active as maintenance probes.
How It Works
- Mastered targets remain visible alongside active targets during sessions
- Ongoing data collection continues on mastered targets
- Prevents skill regression by continuing to probe mastered skills
- New targets from the next phase appear with the existing mastered ones
Without Cumulative Mode
Mastered targets disappear from sessions when their phase completes. Only active phase targets appear.
Program Completion
A program reaches Completed status when all its targets are mastered (or all phases, if you use them). This happens automatically - no manual step needed.
- Completed programs stop appearing in new sessions - no more data collection on those targets
- If a target’s mastery is reversed (e.g., you revert an STO back to in-progress due to regression), the program returns to Active automatically
- Programs without phases complete when all their targets are individually mastered
- Completed programs remain visible in the student’s program list for historical reference and analytics
What’s Next?
